What belongs on your car loan document checklist?
- A valid driver's license in the name you will sign the contract under.
- Recent pay stubs, or last year's return if you work for yourself.
- Proof of insurance, or your agent's details so coverage can start at delivery.
- Proof of your current address on a utility bill or bank statement.
- The references the lender asks for, with phone numbers you have checked.
- If you are trading a vehicle in: its title, registration and current payoff figure.
- Your down payment, in a form the dealership will actually accept.
